Privacy Policy
Effective 30 October 2026 · App: LacakTrans (Android com.silsilara.lacaktrans and web)
This policy explains what data LacakTrans uses, why, and where it is stored. In short: no account. Favorites and settings stay on your device. Your location is read to find nearby stops and is never sent to any server, because LacakTrans has no server for user data.
1. Location
If you allow it, LacakTrans reads your device location to show nearby stops and stations and to center the map on you. The location is only used on the device while the app is open: it is not stored, not sent to a LacakTrans server, and not passed to anyone else. Without location permission the app still works and nearby stops are measured from the center of the map.
2. Data stored on your device
- Favorite stops and stations.
- Settings: light/dark theme, language, and the mode filter on the map.
- The latest schedule data downloaded from the LacakTrans site, so the app also works offline.
- A random usage statistics code (see section 4) and a marker for postponed update notices.
- On Android: a temporary Story card image when you share it; older images are deleted when you share again.
This data is never sent to a LacakTrans server.
3. Services contacted directly from your device
To show the map and vehicle positions, the app fetches data directly from its providers:
- TransJakarta fleet feed: bus positions for the map area currently in view. TransJakarta's server receives requests per map area, not your GPS location.
- OpenFreeMap: map images (tiles) for the area being viewed.
- The LacakTrans site (Vercel): latest schedules, version info, and disruption banners.
Like any internet service, these providers can see the IP address of the device requesting data. Google Maps, WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other apps are only opened when you tap a share or "Directions here" button, and are subject to their own privacy policies.
4. Usage statistics
Anonymous usage statistics (screens opened, features used) are sent to PostHog (servers in the European Union) without identity or GPS location, to prioritise development. They use a random code on the device, not an account, name, or phone number.
5. Sharing data
LacakTrans does not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, and shows no ads. The service providers used to run LacakTrans only process data for that purpose: Vercel (site and schedule data), PostHog (usage statistics), Google Drive (APK file), TransJakarta (bus positions), and OpenFreeMap (map). These providers may process data outside Indonesia.
6. Security
All app communication uses encrypted connections (HTTPS and WSS). There are no accounts or passwords to protect because LacakTrans does not use accounts.
7. Deleting data
- Remove favorites one by one from the stop or station screen.
- Delete all data on the device via Android Settings → Apps → LacakTrans → Storage → Clear data, by uninstalling the app, or by clearing site data in your browser for the web version.
- Revoke location permission at any time in your phone or browser settings.
8. Children
LacakTrans does not ask for personal data and can be used without an account by anyone. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the latest version and its effective date will be updated on this page.
